Mystery and Majesty: God With Us

The Christmas season often presents us with a confusing conflict of emotions—anger and joy, depression and solace. And while the story of Jesus’ birth grounds so much of our joy and brings comfort to so many of our hurts, it also carries with it questions as well. This two-message holiday series, Mystery and Majesty: God with Us reminds us that despite our questions and struggles, God wants us to cling to Christ as we marvel at His mystery and His majesty.

Joseph…Did You Know?

Sometimes cast aside as a minor player in the retelling of the Christmas story, Joseph’s story mirrored that of his wife in many ways. He sat with her marvelling at this baby. He wondered about the baby’s origin. And yet, Joseph was forced to make a choice that not even Mary had to make. Where Mary carried the baby within her, Joseph had to choose to stay, to involve himself in the baby’s life.

Insight for Today

Your personal nourishment is crucial during times of storm. In panic moments, you'll cut a corner on your meals. You'll also fail to get sufficient sleep. It won't be long before you will set aside prayer altogether and you'll find yourself drained, spiritually. Increased emotional pain mixed with decreased spiritual renewal can be lethal to your faith.
